We are hosting a Best of British concert to benefit Stockport Foodbank and the Furniture Station, both in Hazel Grove.

The Best of British night will feature the highly regarded Vernon Building Society (Poynton) Brass Band who were recently awarded a magnificent 2nd place at the first section final of the all-day National Brass Band Championship of Great Britain in Cheltenham.

The concert will be held on Friday 14th October from 7:30pm at Hazel Grove Baptist Church, which is a fantastic venue for musical performances. Tickets for last year’s Rock ‘n’ Roll charity concert by the band sold quickly, raising over £2000 for the charities involved.

Joanne Watson, Chief Officer at the Furniture Station said: “We’re very excited this year and looking forward to another excellent performance by the band with their classic British melodies. In recent years the event has been hugely popular so be sure to get your ticket in advance!”

Nigel Tedford of Stockport Foodbank also commented, “The support that we obtain from the band, the Vernon Building Society and those who come to the concert, is of immense help to the work of Stockport Foodbank as we seek to help those in our community who are marginalised and looking to get their lives ‘back together’ again. Thank you for your support, it is most appreciated”.

Tickets for this event are available in advance from Hazel Grove Baptist Church or any of our six local branches for just £6 all of which will go to Stockport Foodbank and the Furniture Station. Buy your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
