Employees at the Vernon have taken part in a wellbeing week, supported by Beacon Counselling.

Sessions on a range of subjects have been delivered by Beacon on topics including anxiety, depression and dealing with stress.

The training covered how to identify possible issues and how to support people with mental health issues in the workplace.

Helen Regis, from Beacon Counselling, said: “It was a pleasure to present the mental health and wellbeing workshop to staff at the Vernon Building Society.

“They were totally engaged and the overall feedback was about how informative they had found the sessions and that they would like to know more.”
Extra sessions were also delivered to the Vernon’s management team by Stockport MIND.

Steve Fletcher, our CEO, said: “We care deeply about the wellbeing of our people and support them wherever we can. This investment in our people helps to ensure we continue to make a significant contribution to the Stockport community and reinforces our position as an employer of choice.”

The Vernon maintains a 5-star rating on independent review site Smart Money People and in 2017 was awarded ‘UK Savings Provider of the Year’.
