Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join Greater Manchester's only local Building Society, within the Change Team at our Head Office in Stockport.

The role is to analyse business processes and map them to the Society’s software applications. This is a process of continual improvement as software is updated and/or processes change. You will identify and implement efficiencies, to assist in the development of and training in new or updated systems.

Within the 26-week probationary period, the role is office based 5 days per week, following this, flexible home working (2 days per week) is available.


The Role
  • In a quickly growing organisation that has a solid financial performance, you need to have excellent communication skills to engage with users across the Society and to understand their needs and the Society as a whole. To present the findings, recommendations, and project updates to various audiences.

  • Ensure plans are made and processes are created to evaluate the impact of changes made, including taking responsibility for overseeing and reporting on the evaluation.

  • Communicate with users across the Society to understand the needs of departments and the Society as a whole.

  • Analyse findings, identify the processes and information technology required to introduce recommendations and map procedures and processes onto the software applications.

  • Requirement Elicitation and Analysis: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges. Elicit, document, and analyse business requirements, processes, and workflows. Translate business requirements into clear and concise functional specifications for technical teams. 

  • Solution Design: Collaborate with internal and external technology teams to design solutions that meet business needs. Propose innovative and practical solutions to address business challenges. Ensure that proposed solutions align with the organization's strategic goals and technological capabilities. 

  • Create suggestions for strategic and operational improvements and changes whilst considering the opportunities and potential risks attached to the suggestions made. 


Desirable Skills:
  • Applicants should have proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a related role.

  • Have strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. 

  • Proficiency in requirement of gathering techniques, process modelling and documentation.

  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and software development lifecycle.

  • Knowledge of relevant tools such as Microsoft Visio, JIRA, Confluence etc.

  • Strong organisation and planning, with attention to detail.


Package
  • £40,000 to £45,000 per annum dependent upon skills and experience (band mid-market reference £40k).

  • Pension scheme with 7.5% employer contribution (after 13-week postponement period), rising to 10% after 2 years. Employee contribution 5%.
