COMMUNITY STARSAlongside our charitable giving, we're proud to sponsor local people and groups. Whether this be through our longstanding support of the Poynton Brass Band, or though our more recent support of Stockport County Ladies' player Summer West, we believe it's important we support exceptional local people.
FIND OUT MOREWe take pride in helping out in our local community whenever we can. All colleagues are given two paid days a year as part of our Community Volunteering programme. This allows are team to help worthy causes and be involved in the local community.
To celebrate our centenary year, we've set ourselves a target of 100 days of Volunteering.
We believe that financial education is a vital life skill, and numerous studies indicate that it can enhance well-being and better prepare students to manage their finances as adults. That's why we've partnered with WizeUp, a charity that delivers financial education to high schools. So far, we have partnered with eight local high schools including Stockport Academy, Poynton, and Audenshaw, benefiting 240 students aged 15 and older.
After a great response from schools, we're excited to continue our collaboration with WizeUp for the upcoming academic year.
This year marks 100 years of proudly serving our local community. That's 100 years of; bringing local people together to achieve their financial goals, supporting local non-profits, and putting our Members first. This will never change, and by being a Member of the Vernon, you're helping us in our continued efforts to build a better future, together.

Whilst other banks leave the high street in favour of online services, we realise the importance of our local businesses and face-to-face interaction, both from our view and the wider community's. We're here to stay, and we also always want to get better. That's why we're currently refurbishing our branch network, creating an inviting and modern space for our Members and community.
We’re passionate about supporting local business and always try to use local suppliers. For example, our ongoing branch refurbishment programme is all being done by local suppliers, our poster printers are based just down the road, and our photographers are all local people.
