Community Stars supports local non-profits and we're excited to award the winners of our final Community Stars fund of 2024.

Community Stars Round 3Awardees 2024

As a mutual Building Society, we are responsible for giving back to the community we serve. We do this by supporting local charities and not-for-profits that do important work in and around Stockport. That's why Community Stars exists: to celebrate and fund the non-profits that bring our community together. By becoming a Member of your local building society, you're supporting local causes. Together, we're greater.

We're excited to share the awardees of the Community Stars funding:

Heald Green Runners - 100

The CLUB Squash CIC - £100

South Reddish Park Crown Green Bowling Club - £100

A spokesperson from Forward CIC said:

"Thank you so much to Vernon Building Society Community Stars for awarding us £100!! We have recently started doing crafting sessions at our Saturday morning coffee and discussion group "Spill The T" and they are one of the most popular activities we've done so far! We're all about connecting members of the LGBTQIA+ community in Stockport using the 5 Ways to Wellbeing and crafting covers 4 of them! We've also seen that while people are focused on an activity, it break down barriers and encourages open and honest discussions about issues that are important to us. With your generosity, we can purchase more materials to keep these sessions going."
