PIE's L!STEN Wellbeing Event

29th August 2024

We had a great day attending PIE's L!STEN Wellbeing Event at Viaduct Park, Vernon Bear even popped down to say hello to everyone.

PIE L!STEN Wellbeing EventWe recently had the pleasure of visiting PIE's L!STEN Wellbeing event, and what an amazing day it was! The event was organised with the fund that Pie had received from our Community Stars awards. It was great to see how they had put their fund to use. The event was free for everyone to visit and focused on the well-being of young people. The event was held at Viaduct Park, above the new Stockport Interchange, and had many activities and stalls for people to visit.

During the event, people could find a well-being marketplace, pizza and pottery, bracelet making, water painting, sports day games, a pinate, music making, reiki sessions, and much more, all focusing on the wellbeing of young people.

About PIE

PIE was formed in September 2017 by ex-teacher Beth Nunn and is an educational Social Enterprise looking to help ensure people from all backgrounds are future ready. They believe that the background people have should not limit or influence the future opportunities they have, and aim to bridge the gap for people to be able to reach their full potential - whatever they want that potential to be. They work across the North West of England in a variety of educational and community settings. Their programs work to help develop five key areas that have been identified as being vital for future success:

- Communication

- Digital

- Project Management

- Community Cohesion

- Cultural Capital

About Community Stars

As a mutual Building Society, we have a responsibility to give back to the community we serve. One way we do this is by supporting local charities and not-for-profits that do important work in and around Stockport. That's why Community Stars exists: to celebrate and fund the non-profits that bring our community together.

Keep your eyes peeled for application details for our next round of Community Stars, coming very soon! Find out more here.

We had a great time visiting PIE's L!STEN Wellbeing event all about the well-being of young people. It was fantastic to see how our Community Stars fund helped benefit this event, and we can't wait to see what PIE do next!
