We recently held our Vernon in the Park Free Family Fun Day with Pure Innovations. Let's recap what a great day we had!

We held our Family Fun Day at Vernon Park to celebrate 100 years of the Vernon, and what a great day it was! We hosted the event in collaboration with Pure Innovations, and the day was packed with entertainment for the whole family.

Activities throughout the day

Throughout the day, we had lots of entertainment for the whole family, including various arts and crafts activities, which continued all day. There were also many opportunities to meet our mascot, Vernon Bear, who had arranged a special 'bear hunt' to take part in - he was really glad the sun came out for the occasion! 

The Vernon Building Society (Poynton) Brass Band set a lively tone with their music all day, plus, there were plenty of fun stalls to visit with different activities and goods:

  • Tropic - Selling a range of 100% natural skin products
  • Paul White Cards - Selection of cards and pin badges
  • Eunice Hand Knitted Items - Handmade knitted gloves, toys, bags and scarves
  • Donna Louise's Festival Hair - Festival hair and children's glitter hair
  • Sharp - Providing an educational table
  • Tanya from Daisydoos Face Painters - Face painting
  • Pure Innovations - Bear Hunt and Food
  • Vernon Building Society - Colouring competition, biscuits, and more Bears...

Pure innovations

Pure Innovations were kind enough to keep everyone fuelled with tasty treats from their Vernon Park Café while organising the bear hunt around the park. It was a pleasure to collaborate with them for this event!

Pure Innovations began over 30 years ago. Since then, they have supported hundreds of people with a disability into employment, and hundreds more people are engaged in meaningful activities that progress learning, build confidence, and independence, enabling them to lead the very best lives they can. They are a values-led organisation and believe that with the right support, people can achieve amazing things and have a valued presence in their communities.
